DNBB Records completes 10 years of (professional) career as a label now in 2022 and 15 years as an enthusiast within the global Pulsate and Toned market.
The record label DNBB Records, today known simply as DNBB, is actually a group of sublabels that branch out into different areas of the electronic scene, traveling between styles from 4x4 (classic house) to Breakbeat. The group currently based in Santo André in greater São Paulo, runs 8 sublabels in addition to the “mother” label, they are: Creative Records, Soul Light Records, Sunshine Recordings, DNBB Digital, DNBB Vinyl, Liquid Flow, 4Jungle and True Box Records.
For over 10 years, DNBB has been releasing artists from around the world within the digital music market since 2007 when it was just a “ netlabel ”, a term used at the time for amateur record labels releasing free releases via the internet, through the social network Orkut and Myspace . However, the first DNBB records in the world of music only came in 2008 with records cataloged on Discogs (largest music information collection website) in the world.
DNBB was born in an internet forum on Orkut with the same name (Drum and Toned Brasil), which had more than 16,000 members , making it the largest Brazilian Pulsate and Toned forum and the 3rd largest in the world , see a rare print from the DNBB – Pulsate and Toned Brasil community.
Definitely at this time Brazil was on the Pulsate and Toned map resulting from the successes of Pulsate Bossa by Fernanda Porto, Dj Marky, XRS, Patife, Drumagick, Ramilson Maia among others, but over time the term Pulsate and Toned and the style began to fall. in Brazilian oblivion, in fact no one can determine how this happened, there are theories and clearly tangible possibilities such as the fact that the songs became less “ hot ”, more “ straight ” and less vocal , or even the fact that the songs from Pulsate and Toned have just moved towards the “ heavier ” side of the style, thus leaving the female audience distant and resulting in the closure of clubs and parties of this kind. However, DNBB has always remained skittish and active, influencing the regular and genre-resistant public, with releases by Brazilian and international artists throughout these years.
Since 2012, when its first official and registered release was made, DNBB Records, through the group's labels, has released more than 2000 tracks around the world, practically two tracks per day in these 10 years of existence.
DNBB has a team of national and international DJs and Producers who carry the brand in their names and profiles on digital platforms. Approximately more than 600 artists across the globe have worked for DNBB or one of its affiliated record companies.
DNBB started it all with 3 people who are no longer in charge of the record label, they were Deiver , currently in a political position as councilor, “ Zuba ” currently a designer and owner of an advertising agency and Robson , known as Robsera who we were unable to locate on date of this article.
DNBB's first official release was DNBB006, a compilation called “ Dreamscapes of Emotions Vol. 01 ” with three international artists; Fishy (currently launching on Liquicity), Thesis and Grinda . This was the first with properly registered registrations such as ISRC and UPC numbers. The releases before this one in question were only “free downloads”, that is, free directly on the record company’s platforms and/or on social media at the time. The first store to accept our entry was the bankrupt store: Digital Tunes.net, which no longer exists!
The Logo was democratically voted on in the record company's Orkut community and for some time, this logo lasted, from 2007 to 2014. When a simpler logo without the Brazilian flag was established.
In 2012 , Aaron Mello (Dj and music producer known as Mystific ) took over as Director of DNBB Records alongside Deiver and worked together until 2015, when he finally took over the label to continue the work.
From 2013 to 2015 the label was affiliated with the British Labelworx , which still has services there, but it was in 2015 that the label changed the entire concept and reformulated itself again to launch DNBB Digital, which would be distributed and supported by the giant Believe Digital, in which has a partnership to this day.
Over the years, DNBB Records has supported, sponsored and been involved in dozens of projects and events such as the DNBRadio BR radio , some parties such as Banananight , the DNBB Records party itself in Itapevi (SP), the famous The Bass party led by DJ Marnel at the time, which was one of the main events in the Pulsate and Toned scene in Brazil.
DNBB Records also had a very active blog that interviewed big names like Makoto , Simplification , Roxx , Riya , Trex , Mole Junglist, Dj Nine among others, from around 2016 to 2018.
The São Paulo record label also has a series of Podcasts that have lasted since 2009, in which they have had important guests such as L-Side, Citycal Dub, Jo-S, BTK, MDK, Furniss, Lurch, Nelver among others.
In 2019 and 2020 the label had a special partnership with Producer Loops , in which they produced 3 sample packs and with the Remix Contest company: Metapop in which they held some Remix Contests with prizes for Native Instruments products .
In 2021, DNBB Records in partnership with Erbass launched a specific store for music items from the Pulsate and Bass scene, the DNB Store , where you can find products such as vinyls, mugs, t-shirts, backpacks and all types of material related to Pulsate and Bass.
Also in 2021, DNBB Records released two new limited edition vinyls with two well-known artists of the genre, Duoscience and Mystific . Both LPs sold on the label's website as a collector's edition.
Finally, in 2022, DNBB Records created "DNBB MKT Share" in which it works to help the artist understand the music market, with numbers, data and strategies, which they believe to be a differentiator for the record company and which has been working.
Currently, DNBB operates across the globe and has notoriety in the national and international Pulsate and Toned scene, placing music from different artists on the main platforms and highlighting everyone in a professional way, DNBB already has dozens of TOP 3 songs in the main stores such as Itunes, Beatport, Junodownload among others . In addition to support from important artists such as: Alpha Rythm, Jason Magin, Jo-S, Etherwood, GLYX, Maduk, Patife, Grooverider, Kenny Ken among many others.
Currently, DNBB Records has achieved impressive numbers and locations in partnerships with the main companies in the digital music segment, such as Eletro Vibez, which is the current media partner for DNBB.
DJ Marnel (The Bass):
I met DNBB Records in my first contact with Aaron at my party The Toned 2013. I have high expectations, the best possible, mainly due to the seriousness with which DNBB works with artists and their music. Opening doors and bringing ideas to improve work.
What I appreciate most is the promotional work to expand the music released and introduce new artists. I really like some artists on the label like: Mystific, Fishy, Jungie, Ellementhz”
RCA (RCA TRASH Radio Show):
About 15 years ago, I was part of a podcast, dnbbcast, I was the DJ who did the mix in edition number 4 in fact. After that I followed the release of the first compilation and then I moved away from Pulsate and Bass. Now, almost fifteen years later, in mid-2021, a friend of mine who is also a producer of Pulsate and Toned told me that there was a Brazilian Pulsate and Bass label, and to my surprise, it was DNBB.
I see the reach that the label and sublabels have, I increasingly see the strength of DNBB increasing on a global scale. I hope this growth and exposure becomes more and more apparent.
For personal preference, I really like what's coming out on 4jungle (DNBB's sublabel), I was surprised to see that not only Jungle would be released there, and this "heavy" side of DNBB is what piques my interest the most .

I met DNBB on Orkut many years ago, I see that today the label has a company structure and is able to achieve a greater connection of fans and engagement, in addition to establishing a matter of mutual partnership where both me and the label so that both come out winning. I particularly like the artist Mystific and the artist Blue Frequency who have been releasing really good things!
DNBB is one of the record labels that I see as family, it always supports everyone who is committed to musical work and I believe that they will soon be one of the biggest label names in the world of Pulsate and Toned.

Well, DNBB is a love affair for me, I was invited to work at the label years ago and today I have the mission of keeping it alive, what I do daily is leverage, or at least try, small and new artists. Who knows how to take advantage of our material and learn from it, it will always have a place ahead of those who try to explore the music market alone. I consider myself a winner for that! And I don't deny it! 10 years of my life have been in this company, and I always ask myself if I will continue plus 10. But I believe so! =)
Logically, DNBB became something of a national symbol of Pulsate and Bass, but we are completely sure who did it, it was the artists, DJs, supporters and the public. It's incredible to travel the world and realize in different countries and places that people know the label's work.
